‘OLD’ NEWS
At lion Gate Automation we undertake our bespoke reproduction work with pride and enthusiasm. Using our in house tool room and industrial forge we are able to reproduce many different products from bygone years for all types of heritage projects. At Lion we have the ability to use either old manufacturing methods or the latest technology (robot welding etc) or a combination of both to produce the best reproduction at an economic cost.
Heritage funded projects:-
OAK HOUSE MUSEUM
The Oak House Museum is a half timbered Tudor yeomans house. It is fully furnished with contemporary furniture and is used for educational visits, talks and living history. Lion undertook the project for Sandwell Council to supply replacement railings and gates to surround the house and restore it to its former glory. Below you can see photographs of the successful project. For more information visit:-

HADEN HILL HOUSE
This restored Victorian gentleman’s residence is fully furnished in period style and set in 55 acres. Lion undertook several projects on site for Sandwell Council including the following:-
Reproduce the entrance gates (which were missing) using details from a few items of remaining ironwork. This part of the project was heavily featured in the local press and was a job which we were very proud of. Other parts of the project included railings around the children’s playground and the lake for additional safety, industrial type gates to secure the car park and long sections of railing in various areas around the estate. REPRODUCTION ENTRANCE GATES
This interesting project involved reproducing a beautiful set of gates which have been lost from a period around 1830. All that remained was a few photographs which showed the intricate design of the gates. These photographs were used to reproduce the gates piece by piece until the project was completed in late 2002. As you can see the replacement gates bear more than striking resemblance to the originals. This is another product that we were very proud of.
